Following the recent release of her debut track ‘Winter In July,’ emerging Australian country artist, writer and producer Dear Tommie has teamed up with another local rising star Nathan Lamont, for the catchy new single release, ‘Right Turn.’
‘Right Turn’ is delivered to country radio stations today, following fantastic upfront editorial playlist support across Spotify (including Fresh Country, All New Country and Fresh Country Finds) and Apple Music (New Music Daily, Aussie Country, Country Risers and Lil Bit Country) in it’s first commercial release week.
Nathan and Tommie wrote ‘Right Turn’ in early 2024.
“We had reflected on a few key moments in our lives where we thought things were making a turn for the worst but realized there was a good reason for the change,” say Dear Tommie and Nathan Lamont.
‘Right Turn’ was inspired by the idea of when things go wrong, something good will come from it.
As they say in the song, “If there was a power taking me high or a nail stuck in a truck tyre, it led me to you.”
Flat tyres aren’t great but sometimes it puts you in the right place you need to be.
“Keeping optimistic in times where things seem to be going wrong is the message behind ‘Right Turn’ and we hope listeners share this experience during these life moments.”
Hailing from Tamworth, Dear Tommie has returned to her roots and re-emerged on the country scene, having undertaken something of a creative renaissance following a brief stint in mainstream pop under the moniker Penrose.
Along with the recent release of her debut single ‘Winter In July,’ Dear Tommie also co-produced the Bella Makenzie top 5 Australian country radio hit, ‘Cowboy.’
Dynamic singer-songwriter and proud Wiradjuri man Nathan Lamont is one of Australia’s most exciting new country acts. He was recently announced as a finalist in the APRA AMCOS Professional Development Awards and was also a top 10 finalist in this year’s Starmaker competition.
Nathan’s most recent single release ‘I’m Calling Shotgun’ is currently a top 30 track in the Countrytown Hot 50 national country airplay chart.
