The new album Home Is Where The Heart Is, from Australia’s favourite country band from the hills of West Virginia, the Davisson Brothers Band is out now via Red Dog Recordings and Believe distribution.

The Davisson Brothers Band are a genre-blurring mountain rock band formed in Clarksburg, West Virginia, by Chris and Donnie Davisson. Along with nephew Gerrod Bee and life-long family friend Aaron Regester, the band has created a uniquely authentic Appalachian country sound.

In celebration of the new album, the band played at the world famous Grand Ole Opry on the weekend!

They are fiercely independent, proudly self-sufficient, non-conforming, adventurous, open-minded, and 100-percent original.

Their new 12-track album Home Is Where The Heart Is are a tribute to the culture that guides their lives.

“We like to think we’re still evolving and going new places, but most importantly, we represent our family, our home state,” says lead guitarist Chris Davisson.

“We come from somewhere, and that means the most to us. Our heritage and our culture, our history, we like to represent that the best we can, and that’s on our mind at all times. We are loyal to where we come from, and I think that resonates in our music,” he continues.

Home Is Where The Heart Is was produced by Brett Cobb and David “Ferg” Ferguson (Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Margo Price),

Shortly after releasing their hit single ‘Po Boyz’ and then arriving in Australia for the first time in 2018, the Davisson Brothers Band famously received a very public endorsement by Australian country superstar Lee Kernaghan during the CMC Music Awards. Their acclaimed performances at the CMC Rocks Queensland festival took place several days later.

The Davisson Brothers Band returned to Australia in 2019 as international headliners at the Groundwater Country Music Festival.

The album's opening track and new single 'Home' starts with a lonesome fiddle that pulls the listener back in time, back 100 years or more to the front porch of a deep-hollow homestead, before harmony vocals tell a tale of chasing dreams, and true purpose. Simultaneously the easiest and hardest song he ever wrote, Chris Davisson agonized over every lived-in word for months before his co-writers helped finish the euphoric chorus.

This album project was recorded at Nashville’s famous Cowboy Arms Hotel And Recording Spa, and along with the band themselves, features icons like Tim O’Brien, Rob McCoury, Stewart Duncan, Leftover Salmon’s Vince Herman, Ronnie Bowman, Kyle Tuttle and more.

Distilling the Davisson Brothers Band sound down to its essential elements, something as pure and potent as mountain moonshine – and just as transparent – the brothers now say it is their definitive work.

“It was just real and raw,” Donnie Davisson explains.

“I’m in love with this record. I feel like we finally captured what the Davisson Brothers Band are trying to do,” he says.
